KCSIE - Keeping Children Safe in Education
Dyslexia
Students learn in different ways, and face unique challenges, one of which is Dyslexia. Dyslexia is a learning difficulty which affects reading and spelling skills. If you notice some students find these challenging, they may benefit from additional resources and support. This course will help you spot signs of dyslexia and learn how to access the correct support for dyslexic students.
Learning outcomes:
- Describe dyslexia and its prevalence, to better understand its impact on students
- Recognise the signs of dyslexia in students and when to refer them for assessment, to make sure they receive appropriate assistance
- Identify strategies for teaching students with dyslexia, to adjust your teaching approach to be more inclusive of those students
