About iAM

Our story begins with two guys and a dream – to make the lives of school leaders a lot easier. Having worked in facilities management for many years, across private businesses and schools, our Co-founders, Luke Pargeter and Andy Ball, went on a mission to simplify the way compliance should be managed.

About iAM

The team behind iAM

Behind all the magic is a team of experienced and passionate (maybe slightly mad) team of people.

Luke Pargeter
Luke Pargeter

Chief Executive Officer

About:

Luke started iAM after delivering facilities management into schools and realising they could do most of it themselves with a few points in the right direction! Passionate about the value iAM is bringing to the education sector, if Luke had his way every school in the world would have a free iAM account. For now that’s not a sustainable business strategy so instead he takes a great amount of pride in knowing that iAM is the most cost effective compliance and training solution in the world.

Superpower:

Plant inspired chef! For a meat eater, Luke makes a mean vegan curry!

Tom Moore
Tom Moore

Chief Operations Officer

About:

One half of the Tom duo, Tom 1 is our Chief Operations Officer. Tom set up all the systems, so got to the naming first and so beat Tom 2 to the numbering system. Tom has worked on £750m of transformation and was lucky enough to learn from the best at Harvard. Sometimes called the Godfather, he's in charge of all operations and processes for iAM.

Superpower:

Having the number one after his name, rather than 2!

Tom Gagen

Chief Design Officer

Bio

The other (better😍) half of the Tom duo, Tom 2 is our Chief Design Officer or flouncy diva creative director as the wider team affectionately know him. Jeep-loving-check-shirt-wearing-fruity-tea-hater. Ex-Dreamworks, Cartoon Network and Hasbro to name drop, T2 is the director/producer of the iAM brand & content library, marketing activities and bespoke client assignments. Oh and he whips his beloved creative team into shape. Not whips, erm… motivates 😂.

Pete Joannidi
Pete Joannidi

Chief Financial Officer

About:

A proud Bristolian with 25+ years of work experience across many industries, Pete’s last job is the one we’re most impressed with – Trunki, the ride-on-suitcase maker. And yes, we immediately said ‘wish they made an adult-sized one’ – those are the rules. He’s well qualified for the CFO role, but you just want to know what he’s like outside of work, don’t you? Well, he’s a treasurer of a Rugby club and spends loads of time watching his beloved Bristol Bears with his son. He’s a foodie, equally happy eating in a restaurant as cooking at home and foraging for mushrooms. He’s also well-travelled, with more than 50 countries ticked off his list already. You’re never short of topics to chat about with Pete. He’s basically the perfect dinner guest!

Superpower:

Can identify a Ludlow Blue from a Yorkshire Fettle – a cheese connoisseur indeed.

Andy Ball
Andy Ball

Schools Mentor & Co-Founder

About:

School Superhero hell bent on a mission to eradicate the forces of compliance evil and make all schools a safe environment to learn and teach in.  "H & S isn't to stop you doing stuff, it's there to allow you to do it...safely!"

Superpower:

Eats Haggis, Drinks Whisky... BRAW!

Jamie Livingston
Jamie Livingston

School Estates & Sustainability Mentor

Bio

From his humble beginnings as a school caretaker, Jamie has risen through the ranks within the MAT he worked for. His passion and drive helped him develop his skills, and now he knows the school system inside out. An ideal person, then, to be our Schools Mentor. After all, you want to speak to someone who knows your issues and can offer solutions, right? Outside work, Jamie is a sporty fellow - well, he appreciates the peace, solitude and outdoors that comes with golf. But rugby is where he really shines - both as a coach, team manager and a player. He even brings his admin skills into this hobby, being a fixtures secretary and working on the executive committee for his club. When he's not 'on duty' or doing something sporty, he likes nothing more than good wine & cheese, and of course, decent beer. Ah, bliss.

 Superpower:

Can read in a car without getting sick due to a different life as a rally navigator. Handy.

Amie Pargeter
Amie Pargeter

Onboarding Manager

About:

If you contact our helpdesk, you might be lucky enough to reach Amie. With extensive knowledge of our systems, she’ll get you back on track in a jiffy. But if you’re really lucky, you’ll get to hear Poppy, Amie’s Maltipoo, trying to get in on the conversation too. Cutie. When Amie isn’t helping customers, she’ll be hopping Greek islands, camera in hand. Alright for some, eh? Or y’know, she’ll probably be baking sweet treats for her family. Send some our way please, Amie!

Superpower:

Vast system knowledge (as you’d expect from a helpdesk overlord, we suppose).

Laura McNicholas
Laura McNicholas

Customer Delight Manager

About:

With a customer support background in both H&S and Education and a keen interest in self-development, Laura adds superb experience to our talented team. But there’s so much more to her than meets the eye! For example, our Laura has competed for Wales in acrobatic gymnastics at an international level and has even completed an apprenticeship in sports coaching. Outside the gym, Laura loves walking her two dogs and socialising with friends. “Healthy body, healthy mind” is the sound advice that Laura hopes will rub off on the iAM team. Good luck with that!

Superpower:

Can walk on her hands. Ask her for a demonstration if you see her at shows.

Jamie Walsh
Jamie Walsh

Helpdesk Service Representative

About:

Hailing from Stockport, Jamie was recruited to support our team in a technical capacity, with his previous experience assisting big names like the Premier League and Nike in his back pocket. Yeah, he’s a smart cookie, building on his super-human knowledge base as he learns all areas of the iAM Compliant system. Jamie’s a guitar whizz, following in his fathers footsteps (Pops is part of Stockport's own Punk rockers ‘Kingsway Flyers’) by practicing often. If he’s not shredding or taking part in some gaming session or other, you’ll find him watching his beloved Stockport County or recovering from the subsequent session by hitting the gym.

Superpower:

Always gets the high score on arcade Guitar Hero machines.

Kirsty Treherne
Kirsty Treherne

Education Lead & Inclusion Champion

About:

Some people relax with a good book, a bubble bath, perhaps a glass of wine. Not Kirsty. Her idea of chilled is watching true crime documentaries. Yeah, alright, it’s a phenomenon, but we just don’t get it. Brutal murders and the like - not exactly relaxing. She also eats chocolate while watching, which is something we CAN get behind. Nom. Kirsty is our educational lead with a background as an English teacher and a Special Education Needs & Disability teacher, as well as being a headteacher, so very qualified and knowledgeable - your learning is in safe hands.

Superpower:

Likely the most talented performer in the company. We’ll test those skills at the Xmas party.

Josh Mitchell
Josh Mitchell

Sales Director

About:

Let’s start with the more corporate stuff. Josh has been providing compliance and risk solutions for more than 10 years, and claims to know everyone in the sector. So, we want to put that to good use, obviously. He’s been brought in as our Sales Director, and after working with other suppliers in the sector, and seeing how we do business ethically, he was eager to join us. On a personal level, Josh is a typical North Yorkshire lad, which means he’s a fan of long country walks, a reet good pint of Tetleys and of course, Leeds United. If he’s not in the countryside/pub/Elland Road, he’ll be having a quiet night in with his wife, a curry and Vinnie, their white persian cat.

Superpower:

Can open any bottle with his teeth - we’ll make use of this skill at the Christmas party.

Jodie Forshaw
Jodie Forshaw

Schools Growth Manager

About:

Expelliarmus! Meet our magical SDR, Jodie! With a flick of her magic wand, she enchants clients and casts good vibes to all. Jodie is a keen traveller, she wants to go to the ends of the Earth and paint the amazing things she finds. It’s a little trickier now with a youngster in tow, but luckily, kids love to explore as much as her. In the meantime, she’s happy enough to walk everywhere and swim as much as she can. Jodie has a passion for feel-good films like Shrek, and of course, her favourite, Harry Potter.  But don’t be fooled: she’s under no illusion about the task ahead - Jodie is always working hard to be the best she can be when nurturing prospective clients.

Superpower:

Can fall asleep literally anywhere.

John Clarke
John Clarke

Schools Growth Manager (MATs)

About:

We asked John to provide us with a website bio, but it was a bit too corporate for our tastes. So, we’ve decided to make stuff up instead. John is a keen collector of chicken nuggets that look like things, including dinosaurs, smiley faces & unicorns. John makes cheese and sells it at the market every other Wednesd… oh, alright. He’s actually extraordinarily competent at his job, with over 10 years in EdTech and a passion for the sector. Outside work, you’ll find him watching the footy when time allows - he’s usually busy with his wife and kids. John also has a love of cars and fine dining - not a chicken nugget in sight.

Superpower:

Can throw a black pudding 300ft. Has top-notch people skills which allow him to build great relationships.

Declan Donkin
Declan Donkin

Schools Growth Manager

About:

Don’t let his youthful looks fool you – Declan’s been around the block, sales-wise. A seasoned pro, with a diverse background from educational supplies to broadband and software sales. Sales is his professional passion, but he has others. Outside work, he’s a long-suffering Hull F.C rugby fan and stays active in the gym. Basically, putting the rest of us to shame. He’s a drummer and has performed extensively across the country. Luckily, he has an eclectic music taste, from rock and indie to pop and house music so plays and listens to most. Speaking of house, Declan spends his free hours as a music producer at home. An obsession? Maybe, but a pretty cool one.

Superpower:

A specialist in identifying flags stemming from playing old-school football games in hisyouth. Challenge him if you dare.

Steve Fuller
Steve Fuller

Head of Technology

About:

With experience stretching back to the time when tiled background images were exciting, Steve is part of the team responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the iAM Compliant platform. He builds features, squishes bugs and fights entropy - all with the power of, um, code.

Superpower:

Sculpts wood, slower than it takes to grow the stuff

Laura Smith
Laura Smith

Product Manager

About:

As iAM Compliant’s Product Manager Laura is usually found concocting plans for the next big feature or testing something new and exciting before it makes its way to our users. You may recognise her from such films as “Policy Compliance” and “Quick Start Guide” - she’s the voice behind the in app guide videos.

Superpower:

Speedy reading - she’s been known to polish off a 400 page novel in less than 12 hours 😏

Ryan Simms
Ryan Simms

Senior Software Developer

About:

Whether it’s tinkering with his cousins' broken laptop or building tools for Instagram followers, Ryan spends his days surrounded by tricky tech jobs. Thankfully, with his experience in the sector of over 15 years, he’s definitely up to the task. It’s not just web tools Ryan builds, though. From flatpack to converting a garage, building a decking area or replacing doors, he loves a bit of DIY. He’s also enthusiastic about playing the drums - his neighbours less so.

Superpower:

Trainee magician - he can make a box of Guylian seashell chocolates disappear! Alakazam!

Michael Cleary
Michael Cleary

Senior Software Developer

About:

It’s fair to say that Ruby on Rails is a little bit over most of our heads. That’s why we’ve hired an expert to do our software development. Well, you would, wouldn't you? Micheal really knows his stuff, with 10+ years experience in the sector, as well as formerly working for the DWP, as a haulage logistics manager and *checks notes* as an archaeologist. He’s a keen saxophonist and amateur astronomer, too.  Never know when those might come in handy, here. This should be fun.

Superpower:

Knows more about ancient history than about the modern world.

Cristiano Crolla
Cristiano Crolla

Lead Front End Developer

About:

Meet Cristiano. He’s one of the main reasons our compliant platform looks so good and works so well. Yep, he’s a UI and design expert. Probably the right job for him, then. Cristiano has a multitude of hobbies, including 3D modelling, but he’s always looking for other things to distract him - although his dog pestering while he works isn’t the most ideal of them. Cristiano lives in Glasgow, so as tempting as it is to find out whether he’s into neeps, tatties, battered black puddin’ and Irn Bru, we’re not going to ask him. But you can.

Superpower:

Cristiano is a ridiculously flexible person. Not an especially useful skill for his role, though.

Kyle Allen-Taylor
Kyle Allen-Taylor

Back End Developer

About:

You know when you see a hacker in a movie, surrounded by screens and fast moving code? Well, that’s basically Kyle’s life. He’s extraordinarily proficient in developing and maintaining iAM’s codebase, whatever that means. He knows his tech, the inner workings of the compliant tool, and hates messy code. Kyle spends his spare time gaming, creating video game content for the internet, including Twitch, and self-teaching difficult piano pieces. Blimey. Basically, Kyle’s a smart (plant-based) cookie all around.

Superpower:

Learning multiple languages concurrently, including machine and spoken. Trés bien!

Chloe Potts
Chloe Potts

Head of Marketing

Bio

Chloe lives and breathes marketing. Well, that and y’know, air. But she really does have a passion for crafting engaging online content. Perfect for us, then. If she’s not devising strategic campaigns, you’ll find Chloe indulging her wild side (that’s out in nature with her beloved doggo, or travelling to far-flung corners of the world, rather than all night raves). Although she does LOVE a live gig too. Recent ones include Muse, Mumford & Sons and Ed Sheeran - y’know, the stuff we tend to avoid at iAM HQ. Depends who’s in charge of the radio, obvs.

Superpower:

Problem solving & investigative skills to rival Sherlock Holmes!

Dani Maguire
Dani Maguire

Marketing Copywriter

Bio

A wizard with words, and now featuring the appropriate hair/beard combo, Dani’s an iAM original. A former bank worker and, bizarrely, radio DJ, he swapped his calculator and microphone for a keyboard to let his creative side shine. Dani has written for websites, wrasslin’ magazines and even rap songs, but his true passion is heavy metal. Could you have guessed? When he’s not headbanging at a gig, he’ll be quaffing a cold beer in the garden with his little white cat, Jadzia.

Superpower:

Has the power to perform religious ceremonies, provided they are pirate-themed.

Hannah Tadgell

Marketing Assistant

Bio

Having just joined us from Liverpool University, Hannah is determined to distinguish herself in the marketing world. That is, if she can adapt to regular working hours after all those long lie-ins - it’s a shock to the system for sure. Hannah has a passion for anything creative, so she’ll be a regular producing social content and talking to customers who get in touch. She’s also keen on bold content that pushes boundaries - a perfect fit for our disruptive team, then. If she’s not being creative, you’ll find her at the Maccies drive-through - or better yet, on the sofa in front of some rubbish telly. Some of those student habits are hard to break, right?

Superpower:

ALWAYS has a lip-balm with her.

Sophie2 photo-1
Sophie Williams

Executive Assistant

About:

Despite learning English in Australia and Canada, our resident Frenchie and executive assistant Sophie hasn’t lost her accent – and we like that, it adds a bit of glamour to the office. Sophie has certainly acclimatised to British culture though; she loves a pint at the pub. No wonder she fits in so well here. To combat the beer, she’s a keen mountain climbing, hiker and skiing enthusiast. Well, with all that ‘belle campagne française’, you would be, too. At the weekend, she’s got a blooming marvellous second career – she's a trainee florist. Just think of all that lovely moolah during wedding season.

Superpower:

Can polish off a burger and fries in next to no time

Sophie Irvine
Sophie Irvine

Digital Marketing Executive

About:

With almost a decade of social media marketing experience under her belt already, our Sophie is fully adept at crafting cool content and flexing her campaign management muscles. But you don't want to hear about that stuff in a bio, do you? Sophie loves nature, and if she's not out walking, you'll find her in a café, preferably with her head in a thriller or fantasy novel. But only if they serve the proper stuff: good ol' Yorkshire tea, strong enough to make the spoon stand up! She’s a keen baker, and lover of scary movies, but her greatest accomplishment is keeping up with her Spanish streak on Duolingo (over 2000 days and counting!). We're afraid of what that green owl will do if you miss a day, too, Soph!

Superpower:

Utilises the Reverse Card expertly to annihilate her opposition at UNO.

Our Story

Working with some of the brightest minds in the tech world and alongside world-class eLearning designers, Luke and Andy created a simple, intuitive, and affordable solution specifically designed for schools in the UK and beyond.

The iAM Compliant tool was born, and it continually helps schools and MATs across the country.

iAM Compliant Journey
"The main benefit is that everything is in one place and easily accessible.  I also really like the document vault that lets you keep all the reports and other things like O&M manuals, electrical drawings et cetera in one place. Trying to find things in premises managers filing cabinets is a nightmare!"
"Not every school has a compliance manager or an expert in facilities. IAM compliant provides that. The videos are so helpful, they can take you from not knowing how to take water temperatures to how to take water temperatures very, very quickly.
It's so easy to look at IAM compliant and work out where you're at and whether your policies are compliant and whether you're actually in compliance on a day -to -day basis.
It is a great system for that."
"The iAM training platform is amazing, the training is built to IOSH standards and so easy to navigate.  The training courses are fun and easy to follow, they deliver the legislation and understanding of each subject in an easy language that delivers great results for the user. The range of courses is brilliant with so many areas covered and still improving. I would recommend this training platform as a great tool to use for the development of your employees."
"After years of using the Council's compliance package, new School Site Manager, Paul Williams, pitched to his senior leadership team the idea of bringing this responsibility in-house. In doing so, they achieved some incredible results through using a combination of team upskilling, an iAM Compliant account, and employing a private Facilities Management service for contractor tasks."
