Disability in the Workplace
Everyone deserves to work in a welcoming, supportive school, including people with disabilities. But disabled people often experience barriers that prevent them from participating fully at work. Luckily, it doesn’t need to be that way. This course will help you define disability and how you and your school can make sure everyone is treated fairly at work.
Learning outcomes:
- Define disability and the importance of clear accessibility policies and practices in schools to maintain a dignified working environment
- Explain common ways disability can impact a person in schools and how these can be prevented or removed to create a more inclusive working environment
- Suggest key elements of improvement to the school's policies to continually improve the working environment for everyone
What you will learn
Who is this course for
During this training course, a key part of our diversity training collection, you’ll learn to define disability and learn the importance of clear accessibility policies. You’ll also find common ways disability can impact people working in a school and how these can be removed to make it a more inclusive place.
Disabled people’s experiences of their conditions vary greatly. You may not even be aware that some of your colleagues are disabled. But discrimination is never acceptable. And we all have a role to play in overcoming it. That’s why everyone can benefit from understanding more about disability in schools.
